Advocacy

It is both an honor and a real duty to balance the preservation of our historic pastoral landscapes with the effective management of the growth of our town. What brought us (or our ancestors) to North Andover; what makes our town special, can only be preserved with informed and passionate advocacy, and knowledge and use of tools such as conservation restrictions to support it.

NAIS Events Educate and Raise Awareness

Did you know that the oldest working farm in the U.S.A is Barkers Farm, right here in North Andover? We also have some of America’s most iconic farms here in town.

The North Andover Improvement Society has partnered with the Essex County Greenbelt to develop An Evening of North Andover Farm Stories, combining and sharing the stories of North Andover’s iconic farms from the 1600’s through to today. This event will take place in Summer 2021. Stay tuned!
